CAVALIER HOMES - TRANSITION AREA & EVENT HUB

If you are new to triathlons, the Transition Area can be a daunting place. Where to rack your bike? What gear do you need? Bike exit? Bike Entry? Run Exit? So much to remember!

But don't fear - our Coach is here! Sarah - who is not only our Race Director this year, but also a Triathlon & Endurance Coach will be sharing tips, tricks and advise HERE  along the way. So check our FB socials for Coach Sarah's Weekly Tips.

And see below the map of our event hub and transition area so you can familiarise yourself prior to race day.

ANDREW PEACE WINES - SWIM LEG 700M

A downstream swim in the beautiful Murray River currently in all its glory! The swim starts on the banks of the Murray River near the 'Amphibious' Paddlesteamer , as a 'deep water' start.

There is a short walk from the Hopwood Gardens to the swim start.  A vehicle will be provided to transport any footwear that is worn to the start area. This will be returned to Hopwood Gardens post swim. Please collect your items after you finish your race.

Competitors will be released in waves, determined by age groups and identified by swim cap colour.

The first wave of swimmers will be those who nominated for the ‘David Meade Superclass / Open’ Category at time of entry.  The wave allows for those racing for line honours to go ‘head-to-head’ at the front of the field.

Competitors will swim downstream from the start location, through the Historic Port area – if you can, take a moment to glance up as it’s an incredible sight from the river! You then take a slight right hand turn around the river bend and exit the water after passing through the revamped Riverboat dock via a set of stairs. Buoys in the river and water craft will help guide you to the swim exit.

You will then have a short run along the river bank, up a set of stairs and into the transition area.

ASH HALL CYCLES - BIKE LEG 20KM

2023 saw the introduction of a brand new 4 lap bike course that is athlete and spectator friendly, on a flat but technical course through the Historic Echuca Port precinct and connecting streets. And the only Sprint Triathlon bike in Australia that we know of that includes two states!

For 2024, we made some slight adjustments to improve safety and the competitor experience. We think you will like the changes!

Once you get out on course, you will make your way in and around the Historic Port of Echuca, over the 'old' Echuca Moama Bridge and into NSW! Turning around and then making your way back over the bridge into Victoria,  When you come back down High Street, expect a big cheer as spectators line the course ready to cheer you on! When you return to the Odd Captain Round About - this year you will CONTINUE STRAIGHT THROUGH into Dickson Street. At the end of Dickson Street, you will do a U-turn and come back through the Odd Captain Round about and head back down High Street for your 2nd, 3rd and 4th lap.

After completing the 4th lap, you will do your U-turn at the end of Dickson street, then get ready to jump off your bike as you will turn LEFT into Law Court Place and hit out dismount line. Riders will then head back to the Transition area, for Transition 2 and onto the run! Again, expect plenty of cheers as we know how to draw a crowd!

Last year we had a couple of riders headed out for a 5th lap! Don't be that rider this year! ;-p

COOLABAH TURF - RUN LEG 5KM

A 2 lap run course along the river and through the heart of the Port Precinct. A slightly modified course to previous years, but spectacular just the same! The run will take you along the Mighty Murray River, the historic paddle steamers, around 'Aquatic Reserve', and under the 'old' Echuca Moama Bridge - the very road you will ride on!

Take a moment during your run to appreciate this race location, and soon enough you will be back in front of a cheering crowd and to the finishers line, located at Hopwood Gardens, Echuca!
